You Can Do What With Your IRA!?

Copyright 2006 Damon Clifford

Everyone knows you can invest in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds with your IRA. About 97% of the trillions of dollars of IRA funds are invested in these types of assets. Did you know you can also invest your IRA funds into non-traditional assets like real estate, energy, and tax liens?

What!?

Yes, you can invest your IRA funds into a house, a duplex, or a commercial building along with many other non-traditional assets. A lot of people are choosing these types of investments to better diversify their retirement portfolio. These are the people that dont want to see their portfolio rise and fall dramatically due to stock market fluctuations.

Any good broker will tell you to keep your portfolio diversified with many different stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. More savvy investors say to keep your portfolio diversified with many different assets such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, energy & real estate. Some of their portfolios actually increased during the most recent bear market! This was due to their portfolios being truly diversified.

There are two main reasons that more and more people are choosing to invest a portion of their IRA funds in non-traditional assets. First, they dont know or trust the stock market since it has performed poorly the last couple of years, and nobody can predict what the market will do over the next 5, 10, or 20 years. Second, they may or may not know what certain companies are doing on the other side of the country, but they do know about that hot piece of property just around the corner that would be a great rental house!

One of the added benefits to a self directed IRA is investing in assets that you know, and understand. The more you know and understand, the better judgment you can make in your own investments.

Once the self directed IRA is set up, you have investment control of the funds. You can use the funds to purchase the house and the income from rent will go back into your IRA. If you decide to sell the house, the capital gains from the sell will go back into your IRA as well. Depending on the type of IRA you have your gains can be either taxed deferred or tax free!

With the self directed IRA, you are in control. Many people are using the self directed IRA to take control of their retirement investments.

Stocks, bonds, and mutual funds still need to be in your portfolio to be diversified, but its important to understand that you do have choices outside the stock market!

The Greatest Rock Song of All Time

Rock and roll music originated in the American South in the early 1950s and then quickly spread throughout the rest of the country and ultimately the world. By the late 50s and early 60s, rock and roll had become what many thought was the most popular genre of music in the western world. It has largely maintained a very high level of popularity since then, despite evolving over time into various sub-genres that are now lumped together under the generic term rock.

In the more than 60 years since rock and roll burst onto the national and international music scene, there have been literally thousands upon thousands of rock songs recorded (performed in English but also in many other languages) that we have loved, liked, were indifferent to, found pretty irritating, outright hated, or had a wide range of other responses to. The vast majority of these songs made absolutely no lasting impression on our musical psyches. But a small percentage did stand out in the crowd in a positive way, some so much that they were head and shoulders better than all the rest. And an even smaller percentage of those were so great that they have stood the test of time and entered the pantheon of greatest rock songs ever, depending on whom you ask, of course.

But of all the great songs, which one truly rises above all the rest to claim the title of greatest rock song of all time? The answer is part of what appears to be a never-ending debate and theres certainly no shortage of people willing to offer up their candidate. No doubt you have your own personal choice but for now lets consider what some other folks think.
If you like poll results, youll be interested to learn that The Rock and Roll Report said that in a 2004 poll conducted by Planet Rock, a digital radio station in Britain, Led Zeppelins Stairway to Heaven was voted by over 70% of respondents as the greatest rock song ever recorded. Not so fast, chimed in Eric when he saw the list with Stairway to Heaven sitting at the very top, saying that he has for many years declared to all who would listen to me that the best rock n roll song of all time is Louie Louie by the Kingsmen. But the editors of DJ Zone Magazine agreed with the Planet Rock poll results and think Stairway to Heaven is the all-time best.

Not to be outdone, Rolling Stone Magazine compiled its own list in 2004, getting a lot of input from a lot of people, and Stairway to Heaven didnt even make it into its Top 5 (in fact, it didnt even make it into its Top 10). The number one spot went to Bob Dylans Like a Rolling Stone. However, Drifter posted a comment in which he heartily disagreed with their choice of Dylans song, asking pointedly: In what sense is Like a Rolling Stone by Bob Dylanworking in the folk-song modeeven a rock and roll song? Good question.

John Lennons Imagine was number 1 in Virgin Radios list of All Time? Top 500 Songs published in 2004. Imagine that? And in 2000 MTVs music video sister cable TV station VH1 ranked (I Cant Get No) Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones at the very top of its list of 100 Greatest Rock Songs. While two of Todd M.s friends (Chuck C. and Hank S.) agreed with VH1s choice of number 1, many of his other friends didnt, with a range of choices for the top spot, including songs such as The Beatles Let It Be, Cinnamon Girl by Neil Diamond, Voodoo Chili by Jimi Hendrix, Purple Haze (also by Hendrix), Hound Dog by Elvis, and various other selections in what turned out to be a pretty eclectic list of choices for best rock song of all time.

Now what does all this prove? Well, not very much except that everybody has an opinion of what they think is the all-time greatest rock song, and these opinions are pretty darn subjective. Even different polls will come up with different songs at the top, proving that its very difficult to gain a consensus on this subject or practically anything else, for that matter. Nonetheless, these lists are fun to make and fun to read and ponder. If nothing else, they bring back fond or not so fond memories of the many songs that we have encountered along the way and which have become an indelible part of our life experience.

So whats your own personal choice for the Greatest Rock Song of All Time?

Who Does Ron Artest Think He Is Without Basketball?

You have to hand it to Ron Artest. This guy really just gets under the skins of many NBA fans. Mr. Artest, exactly who do you think you were prior to your basketball career and when you throw it all away, exactly who do you think youll be after basketball? Its time to grow up and make your fans, what few of them you have left, proud again. Dont you think?

Hes graced the covers of some of the biggest magazines on the newsstands today. Dont you know that the executives of Penthouse, Sports Illustrated and GQ all sold large amounts of magazines just because Artest doesnt know how to behave? When you think about it, it really is disturbing, especially when you visit his website. He boasts about providing the funds for 6 college scholarships and naturally, he is very active with children through his charities, summer camps and general love for children. And why wouldnt he love children? He certainly can relate to them, right down to the temper tantrums.

In the day where celebrities act like drunkards strung out on drugs in night clubs while divorcing their parents, the general public should demand more from athletes and frankly so should the commissioners who slap them on the wrists with a fat fine and send them to the bench. As commissioner David Stern sternly impressed upon the media in 2004 after the infamous Artest incident, The line is drawn, Stern said as he referred to the suspension of players for the Indiana Pacers after Artest fought his way into a suspension which carried some of the heaviest of fines. Yes, David, the line was drawn and the chaos has continued but dont feel too bad, its the norm among professional sports.

In fact, professionals are making such a name for themselves acting out with little self-control that even the college players are getting in on the act. This year in College Football, baby Vick really made his big brother proud when he stomped the leg of another player. He didnt learn this behavior from big brother but he may be under the false assumption that bad behavior is a special prerequisite for making a go of being a pro. And we wont talk about the asinine behavior of T.O. By the way, is he still around?

To add insult to injury, its people like Artest that REALLY needed the break that the NBA gave not only him but his entire family. Artest, now too big for himself has all but forgotten his most humble beginnings. He grew up with two brothers and six sisters, and from his own accounts in his auto-biography on his website, he tells of living in the projects of New York City. Less than seven years ago, he was drafted by the Bulls and a few short years later signed a multi-million dollar deal for a basketball lifestyle brand and gained the kind of money most only dream about. And yes, Artest, considering you started out in the projects, this NBA stuff has been fairly lucrative for you, wouldnt you agree?

Still, in 2004, Artest commanded $6,158,000.00 in salary, but because he apparently has lost the need for money, he lost over 4.9 million because of suspensions. And true, he probably doesnt need the money now but some other well deserving athlete did. Someone who would have been glad to sign autographs, shake hands, smile and do what they are paid to do which is play ball and please crowds.

Whats more, when professional players, like Artest, get by with a bad attitude once, they continue to revel in it. For instance, way before Ron Artest became a notorious bad guy, he had another scuffle. Two years prior to his fight on the courts with NBA fans, he grabbed a camera from a television stations crew and destroyed it after a defeat to the Knicks.

Recently, his tantrum hurt only his own plans when he decided he wanted to go to Sacramento and then he didnt want to go, and then he did and then he didnt. In fact, Artest did go because he was made to go, just like a child is made to do something. Heres an innovative idea for the powers that be in professional sports, if you are going to hire oversized kids to play in an adult game, why not send them to a behavioral psychologist before turning them loose on the general public?

On his website Artest says of his time with one of his teams, At times I felt like I had to lead morelike Michael Jordan. Well darling, I can tell you, you are no Michael Jordan. No, Michael Jordan knew how to act like a gentleman and he knew how fortunate he was. Michael Jordan appreciated what the NBA delivered to him and his family and he never disrespected his game. I really wish Ron Artest, given your talent, were a little more like Mike. And Im sure your fans do too.

Sadly, I was a huge Ron Artest fan and I cheered him on from my home computer and television. However, with his attitude and the mounting chips on his shoulder, I fear he is at the beginning of the end of his career. However, the housing projects of Sacramento will welcome him back to his similar humble beginnings should he decide to stay there when basketball is no longer an option.

A Toy Music Box Is A Toy For Life

Music box collectors and enthusiasts often have a wide variety of music boxes in their collections. Some collectors may prefer music boxes that play wonderful music, while others might opt for those that provide an ornate home to jewelry and family heirlooms. But what we often forget when discussing music boxes is that nearly all of us have been touched by their song at one time or another. There are many childrens toys that have an almost universal appeal and presence; teddy bears, a baby doll, toy cars, and yes, a toy music box too.

Home Printing Machines

Home printing machines are available on the market today in many sizes, prices and capabilities. Many different forms of printing can be accomplished in the home. Whether you want to create unique tee-shirts using a home screen printing machine or you want to produce elegant laser printed letters, the equipment is readily available to you for home use.

Once, home printing machines simply were not something that people had in their homes or even in their small businesses. They were expensive and complicated. Besides, no one had a computer or anything else that required a printing machine. Typewriters were then the only means of creating printed material at home. Of course, since ancient times woodblock printing and other forms of printing that required the use of a carved block could be created at home, but this wasn’t exactly a home printing machine.

Today, it is rare to walk into a modern home and not find a home printing machine of some type. Whether it is an inexpensive bubble jet or ink jet printer, a slightly more expensive laser printer or an all-in-one fax copier printer combination, the majority of modern homes have some type of home printing machines.

“Let me print that out quickly for you” simply was not heard in the home in past years. Before the 1980′s home printing machines simply were not available on the market. When these machines first appeared, they were quite expensive and only the financially comfortable could afford one for their home printing needs. Of course, during that time, computers were also something only the financially comfortable could afford as well.

Today, with the prices of home electronics going lower every single day, home printing machines can easily be found for under $100. Even the supplies that allow the home printing machines to operate and create photographic quality images are quite affordable and most anyone can have extra supplies readily available. Home office supply stores may carry top of the line equipment and supplies but stores such as Sams Wholesale and Wal-Mart stores are enabling relatively cheap purchases of home printing supplies and equipment.

The world is rapidly changing. Today many homes have home printing machines of some type. Soon, every home will have this equipment as technology continues to lower prices for home electronics. Better, faster and less expensive printers are on the horizon. Who knows what type of home printing machines will appear in the very near future.

World Of Warcraft Super Gold Guide!

It proved hugely popular everywhere it was released and by 2005′s close it had more than five million subscribers worldwide. The majority of the World of Warcraft quests during the early and middle stages of gameplay can be completed without the help of other players particularly if the player is at a higher level than that which the quest suggests. Dar’Khan by that time more lich than elf was annihilated by the powerful magical attack. In default melee matches players can pick their own heroes and losing one will not end the game.

Begin By Eating Breakfast

You have probably witnessed that eating a healthy breakfast can save you from cravings later during the day and can actually assist your effort in loosing the excess weight you have been carrying around for some time now. But, as time has lately been considered a luxury not many people have during the day and especially during a busy weekday morning, starting the day off with eating a healthy breakfast is now a lost nutritional practice. Between battling work problems and prepare ourselves for another demanding day, we have forgotten to pay attention to the most important meal of the day and usually try to find time to squeeze in a cup of milk or in best cases a whole bowl of cereals. The contemporary fast-paced world has directed people to become superheroes, managing double of even triple careers, but forgetting to manage their own daily food intake. If you think that your body is the only instrument you have to continue performing all the tasks you want, perhaps it is time to pay attention to its nutritional needs and fulfill them accordingly.

Wakeboards For Thrill And Action

If you love to spend your vacation in the water and you are the adventurous type, then wakeboarding is just the sport for you. This board sport is relatively new but has gained popularity during the last few years.

In wakeboarding, a boat with a rope tows the rider. The rider rides on a buoyant board, called a wakeboard, and uses the wake to launch himself up into the air and then back into the water. Though this may sound simple, there are quite a few tricks and spins to learn before you can master the sport.

The essentials for wakeboarding are wakeboards and wakeropes. Wakeboard length varies between 120 and 150 centimeters and the wakeboard width is between 40 and 45 centimeters. Beginners should begin with longer wakeboards with square edges or square rails. Square-edged boards are more stable and easier to control, though round-edged boards are easier to land. Round edges also allow boards to easily gain speed, providing quicker lifts during air tricks. Krown, Hyperlite, Liquid Force and CWB are specialized wakeboard manufacturers and their wakeboards cost between $350 to $600.

Experienced wakeboard riders also take into consideration the rockers, fins, bindings and the design of the board. Bindings or boots provide a secure attachment to the boards and should provide a comfortable support for the heel and ankle.

Wakeboard ropes vary in elasticity and length. The length of a wakerope is normally between 60 and 70 feet. They may be one-piece, which does not allow any length adjustments, or may come with adjustment loops. A tighter and stiffer rope allows little stretch and is used to perform air tricks.

Wake boats nowadays come with wakeboard towers. Instead of the rope being mounted on the back of the boat, the rope is mounted on a tower, which is normally 2 to 3 meters from the water level. Wakeboard towers allow a better pull and stability and also enable a rider to gain more air height while performing tricks. The towers also provide additional space for wakeboard racks, wakeboard speakers and lights. Fly High and Skylon are the more established wakeboard tower manufacturers and the price ranges from $900 to more than $2000.

Wakeboard accessories add color to the sport. Wakeboard speakers may be attached to the towers and can be used to play music or to give instructions to the riders, especially beginners. Waterproof covers are also available for the wakeboard speakers. If you want to flaunt your skills at night, then you can also add wakeboard lights. Handles should be comfortable to hold on to and most come with rubber padding. Beginners should also use wakeboard helmets for additional safety. Eye-catching wakeboard apparels are also available with wakeboard dealers.

Computer Consulting: Balancing Your Portfolio

Do you have a balanced portfolio in your computer consulting business? Target 70% of your businesses in the small business state.

Keep a small amount of your business dealing with home networks and the consumer side and then have 5-15% of your business with much larger businesses. This setup works for many computer consulting professionals but it all depends upon where you want to take your business.

Don’t Put All Your Eggs in One Basket

Make sure that no single one of these clients accounts for more than 10 percent of your computer consulting revenue. If you get most of your money from one source and then lose that client because they were acquired, sold, or had a change in management, you stand to lose a lot of revenue. It is very difficult to bounce back from something like that.

Fire Your Bad Clients

As crazy as it seems, you may also choose to fire one of your clients. Every once in awhile youre going to run into some real problem clients that arent worth all the money in the world.

These clients will drive your computer consulting staff nuts to the point that theyre taking sick days and everyones dreading going out to see them. At some point you’ll decide to cut them loose. If they make up too much of your current base, you’ll have a hard time firing them.

Reasons to Fire Clients

You may also have some clients that arent meeting your monthly revenue goals and arent paying on time or arent meeting their computer consulting contract commitments. You really need to have the luxury of cutting one or two of them loose each year without it taking a huge chunk out of your revenue.

Lots of management consultant gurus say that you should fire your bottom 20 percent of your customer list every year. You may not need to be that precise, but you are going to find some people that have ridiculous, unrealistic demands and you should be prepared to fire them.

Make Room for Your Ideal Clients

Don’t tolerate computer consulting customers that are verbally abusive, harrass you, and cause you too much stress. If you have enough other clients that are the kind you want to work with, it will be easier for you to replace the problem client rather than reform him.

Magnetic Therapy

Magnetic Therapy is currently considered to be an alternative medicine. Those who practice it believe that certain ailments can be treated if the patient is exposed to magnetic fields. Permanent magnets will generally be placed near the body, and it is believed that this procedure can reduce pain, allow the body to heal faster, and treat a number of other medical problems. Magnetic Therapy will typically be used for people who have problems with their backs or joints. The effectiveness of this therapy is currently not known, and most in the medical establishment currently view it as being a form of pseudoscience.

The practice of magnetic therapy has led to the growth of an entire industry. A number of products are sold for the purpose of healing those who use them. These products could range from bracelets to mattresses or blankets. While there is no concrete evidence that magnetic therapy has been used to effectively treat people, some in the medical establishment believe that it may work as a placebo in some who use it. Critics of magnetic therapy claim that most magnets don’t have the strength to effect the various organs and tissues within the body.

In addition to this, few manufacturers have been able to effectively demonstrate the usefulness of their products. However, it should be noted that the field of magnetism is not well understood, and discoveries are constantly being made on a regular basis. Scientific studies have showed that magnetic fields do play a role in the migratory patterns of some birds, and being exposed to a magnetic field which is too strong can even be toxic. Given this research, there is a possibility that strong magnetic fields may play a role in the health of those who are exposed to them, but this remains to be seen.

Proponents of Magnetic Therapy often point out that magnetic fields which are exposed to the body can increase the circulation of blood due to the presence of iron within the hemoglobin. However, iron will lose its ferromagnetic properties once it becomes ionised. There are a number of websites online which sale magnetic health products, and it has grown into a large industry. Whether or not the use of magnets for healing is caused by the placebo effect, it has become an alternative medicine that many people use for healing purposes.

The use of Magnetic Therapy is not new. Paracelsus was a doctor and alchemist who lived during the 15th century, and he reasoned that if magnets could attract iron, they may also be able to have an effect on the various diseases that were present in the body. The current debate about Magnetic Therapy will continue until concrete evidence has been found to support it. With all the achievements that have been made by the medical community, they are limited in their knowledge and understanding. Magnetism is a subject that is not well understood, and the function of the human body and mind is extremely complex as well. It is possible that some link between magnetic fields and diseases may found in the future if sophisticated tools are developed.

Plantronics DSP 400 Headset

The Plantronics DSP 400 headset produces high quality sound whether you use it with a laptop or a desktop computer. The microphone is supposed to digitally cancel noise, just transmit your voice perfectly. I use this headset mainly for voice over internet protocol (VOIP) applications like Skype and other messengers and the performance is simply marvelous! The other party may be half a world away but it sounds as if he were just in the next room. I would even dare to say that sometimes it is clearer to use VOIP than my cell phone to call overseas!

The DSP 400 is not only for VOIP applications though. When you want to watch a movie or listen to music without bothering anyone, this is the perfect headset for you. It is very comfortable. Even after hours of using it, you dont need to worry about discomfort around the ears or on your head. For that reason also, the DSP 400 is perfect for hardcore gamers who tend to spend ages playing on the computer.

It is very easy to use just plug it into a USB port and youre ready to go. It is perfectly compatible with Windows XP SP2. There is a small control box where you can find the volume control and a small mute button that lights up when activated. Very handy when you do not want to be heard!

If you want to be able to do more with the microphone and audio output, you can go to the Plantronics website and download their PerSono Audio Control Software. I have not felt the need to do so yet but it is supposed to allow you play with the settings and find the optimum sound you want for different applications. This might be a good idea especially if you are a very particular listener.

If you do a lot of traveling, you will also benefit from this headset. It is foldable and you can fit it almost anywhere. One thing that I think could use some improvement is the length of the cable. Yes I want freedom of movement, so a long cable is good, but the DSP 400s cable is just way too long. Plus, it has the long rectangular box attached to the cord that can get in the way.

Aside from that, I would say that this product is very much worth what you pay for it.

Stuttering Treatment, Stammering Treatment

There are many different treatments for people who stutter/stammer. In this article I will describe some of the experiences and types of stuttering or stammering therapy people experiment with.

One of the first places people go to when seeking help for a speech impediment is speech therapy. I myself started attending speech therapy at the age of five and I continued at different times to attend until the age of eighteen. Now I am sure some people have some very positive experiences and results from this type of therapy, however I was not one of these people. From what I remember the main advice I was given was to slow down my speech and to take a deep breath before starting to speak. When I observed fluent people speaking, I rarely heard them take a deep breath.

Another area people try is hynotherapy. This was something I really wanted to try for myself at the age of around nineteen. Unfortunately each session cost nearly as much as my weekly wage at that point of my life. I never managed to experience this form of stammering therapy.

I now believe that stuttering is a physcological as well as a physical problem. As hynotherapy only really deals with the physcological issues I am now not sure if it could have offered me the complete answer.

The other treatments people who have a stutter try are speech courses. These courses are either on a group basis or on a one to one basis. With each of these courses, the person who attends the course is required to practice the techniques to make them a natural part of their speech.

Confidence courses are another form of treatment for stuttering. In my opinion these are of value, however do not cover the physical aspects of how to eradicate a stutter.

Starting a Snow Boarding Business

For a while I have been considering starting a snow boarding business and really do think it is something that will have a lot of potential. In my area there are two slopes near by and there is no local businesses that service us snow boarder’s needs. What I would like to do is start a snow boarding business that sells snow boarding clothing and snow boarding equipment and of course boards themselves. For years I have been trying to think of a business idea and I really feel that incorporating my love for snow boarding with my love for business would be a great idea. I done a degree in business however since achieving this degree I have yet to actually go out there and give it a try in the real world on my own. I am currently a business consultant for an accountancy firm, and although I enjoy my job my true desire is to go out and do it on my own, and for myself.

Why Most People with Agoraphobia Take a Year or More to Start Recovery

Understanding agoraphobia is the first step toward recovery. However, the average person with agoraphobia takes at least one full year to get diagnosed and even longer to learn enough about agoraphobia to start recovering.

Here are four reasons why:

1) Most people don’t know what is wrong with them at first. The symptoms of agoraphobia, especially during panic attacks, feel like those of a physical illness. For example, when you are hyperventilating it is easy to suspect something is wrong with your lungs. When your heart is racing it is easy to think something is wrong with your heart. When you are sick at your stomach day after day it is easy to think something is wrong with your digestive system. Plus, one symptom of agoraphobia is to “scan” your body for physical symptoms and worry about every little twinge as if it may be a major life-threatening illness.

2) Many doctors dont know how to diagnose agoraphobia. People with agoraphobia commonly visit a succession of doctors trying to find a diagnosis. Most doctors will listen to physical complaints and run tests. They will report that the tests are negative, but often fail to suggest the presence of agoraphobia due to a lack of training. Doctors who can tell that your symptoms are caused by a panic attack may still not be able to tell what type of anxiety disorder you have or provide information about it.

3) Most people go through a period of denial. If finally faced with a diagnosis of a psychological disorder like agoraphobia, the human reaction is to throw up defenses and deny it. Most of us dont think of ourselves as the type of person who would have a “mental problem” or “psychological disorder.” Psychological problems carry a stigma in society that physical illnesses and injuries do not.

The average person tends to consider a psychological disorder as personal weakness or lack of will power. People are more likely to treat a psychological disorder like agoraphobia as your fault than they would in the case of a physical illness or injury. If you were diagnosed with cancer, no one would stand over your bed during chemotherapy and question your will power, work ethic, or desire to go to work or school. But try having agoraphobia. People will do exactly that. Since no one wants to be viewed that way, it is hard for most people to admit to anyone they have agoraphobia.

4) Most people are reluctant to seek treatment for a psychological disorder because of the stigma. Even people who are able to admit to themselves that they have a psychological disorder might still have trouble admitting it to anyone else. Its hard enough to try to explain irrational fear and panic attacks to your friends and family, and even harder to seek out professional help.

A word to the wise – the best course of action to take if you start experiencing panic attacks or the symptoms of agoraphobia is:

- See a doctor to rule out medical problems.
- Consult a mental health professional to get a diagnosis and/or begin treatment.
- Learn everything you can about your disorder.

Knowledge is the first step to recovery and the sooner you get started on your recovery from agoraphobia the faster it will be.

On the flip side, the longer it takes you to get diagnosed and admit that you have a disorder – the more agoraphobia has a chance to take root, and the more difficult your recovery may be.

If you suspect that you or someone you know might have agoraphobia, dont take a year to start learning everything you can about it. Start today. You can learn more by reading or asking questions on The Agoraphobia Resource Center website at: www.agoraphobia.ws

Free Money? Not quite close enough.

We all know there is no such thing as free money (even a lottery win or a donation are not free as they require buying a ticket or some marketing to attract the donor which costs money). So how would one go about trying to get almost free money that lasts?

Well one way is to ensure that a good proportion of the money that you earn is designated to going into two things one is savings and the other is investments. Save for a rainy day is a common saying however with everything that is happening in the world saving is not enough we all need to plant seeds that will grow over time and compliment the savings.

With investments you can be an armchair investor or an active investor that choice is up to each individual and their risk appetite. There are many ideas for investing unfortunately a lot of them require a lot of money to start with and some need you to practically have a degree on that subject! I have come across one market that is little known by the common individual which offers a wealth of benefits to its participants.

The market I was referring to is also very straightforward and that market is the Currency (Foreign Exchange or Forex) Market. This market is the largest in the world; it is not trading in any one place and it trades 24 hours a day from Monday morning in Australia or Japan to Friday evening in the USA. There are a lot of things that affect the currency markets. Regardless of these the markets are very simple to follow and one can profit from them as long as they follow a simple system, with the understanding that small manageable losses will have to be incurred to make large, long term, consistent profits.

Due to the constant market it is the most liquid as well, meaning there are a lot of participants so you are not limiting your opportunity by being involved like you would with stocks & shares. Access to the forex is now available to the individual and at very little investment cost, some firms will allow you to start trading with as little as 300 (, $ or Euros). However, it is probably better to start somewhere near the 1,000 mark (and trade as if you had only 300). Also most firms do not charge a commission so for your small investment and some trading you could get some free money (profits).

How is the profit made? Most firms work on the basis of 100:1 margin which means for every 1 (, $ or Euro) you control 100! This poses a risk and a major benefit. If the price moved 1% on the day you will be making or losing the face value of the trade! Here is the good bit you can limit the downside by using stop losses you predetermine the level by how much money you are willing to lose if your decision should be wrong. You can even use this technique to protect your profits.

Forex trading is very simple if you understand the very basics. Should you wish to learn techniques and ideas there are courses available showing you how you too can invest actively to get an extraordinary return, over time this will provide for that rainy day with ease; lets not forget that it is commission free with most firms and with a small amount of initial investment capital you too can make your almost free money!
